SEAGLASS Restaurant is a 200 seat venue located on the first level of the Observatory at the new Exploratorium on pier 15. The food and beverages offered at SEAGLASS are healthy and multicultural, and created with both adults and children in mind.

The restaurant’s design seamlessly blends with the museum experience in a number of ways, bringing exhibits to life for museum diners. SEAGLASS’ bar top, a centerpiece of the restaurant, was created by senior artist Shawn Lani to reflect his exhibit, Icy Bodies.

Picking up on the themes of algae, seawater, and the origins of life exhibits, SEAGLASS serves living foods and an array of seaweeds.

Partnering with local suppliers of sustainable and organic foods allows our chefs to create dynamic and ever-evolving menus that reflect where and who we are. SEAGLASS’ bar showcases artisanal distillers, many organic, and a thoughtfully curated wine and beer list. In addition to its spirited beverages, SEAGLASS offers natural soft drinks, sparkling house-made drinking vinegar beverages, and organic and Fair Trade coffees and teas.

SEAGLASS is open during the Exploratorium’s operating hours and does not accept reservations. The entrance to SEAGLASS for non-museum goers is located at the East end of pier 15.
